The club organises official, open to all, coarse fishing Championships in Cyprus reservoirs since 2009. It is the first Club in Cyprus that organizes official competitions based on F.I.P.S.e.d (Federation Internationale De La Peche Sportive En Eau Douce) Rules. In 2013 the club officially registered under K.O.A (Cyprus sports association).
Every year the club hosts two championships: Feeder (4 Matches) and Float (6 Matches). Championships usually start in early April and finish in December with a break in the summer. Everyone is welcome as long as they have a fishing license and a keep net (min 2.5m length).
Since 2013 the club has participated in four international events organised by F.I.P.S.e.d with the newly formed Cyprus coarse angling national team, bring home a wealth of experience and ensuring the country’s presence in such prolific events.
The targets set by the club founders are:
- To bring together as many anglers as possible with a great interest of fishing in fresh waters.
- To promote a healthy way of life and athletic spirit.
- To facilitate dialogue between anglers for the exchange of knowledge and experience.
- To introduce anglers to local venues and to enjoy natural resources without damaging the eco-system.
- The creation of a national team to compete in international events.
- Promotion of the need for protection of freshwater reservoirs from illegal activities.
